Helm input at speed. NSS 4's combination of touch, a rotary control and a keypad is the best answer of the six to a real problem: touchscreens are poor input devices on a moving powerboat. Being able to change radar range or work a cursor by feel, without looking, is worth more than a specification sheet suggests.

The control scheme and the processing. Touch alone is poor input at 25 knots in a chop, so NSS 4 adds a rotary control and a keypad — you can change range, select a target or move a cursor without stabbing at a moving screen. Simrad or B&G for a cruising yacht?
B&G, if you sail. They share the Navico platform and HALO radar, but B&G carries the sailing software — polars, laylines, true wind and sailing autopilot logic — and Simrad does not. Is HALO radar the same on Simrad and B&G?
